Frequently Asked Questions

Commissioning any item will always be more expensive than purchasing pre-made costumes or props from a retailer. Think of requesting a commission as if you were hiring a costume designer, tailor, or other professional craftsman. Everything is made by myself (Mabeline) with high-quality materials and tailored to you. I offer this service to those who need something customized and cannot find what they want anywhere else. If you need a costume or prop for a convention, fair, or Halloween in a short time at a low price, this service is NOT for you. 

All commission related payments have a no refund and no return policy. That includes if you do not like the way your item came out. I send several progress photos throughout the process – if you don’t like something, say something. Intentionally destroying your items after a convention and claiming damages is fraudulent and immoral.  Please deeply consider if engaging in the commission process is right for you.

Turnaround times vary depending on the size of your project. For average cosplay builds (costume, wig, and accessories) expect a 4 – 6 month turnaround. You should receive a turnaround estimate with your quote if your request is accepted.

My most ambitious works can be found in my portfolio but the most common thing I have commissioned are costumes for anime characters (Demon Slayer, Jojos, Aot, etc). I use 3D modeling as part of the design process to achieve gravity defying silhouettes and 3d printing to create ultra clean props and accessories. I do commission wigs in simple or natural styles but if you need a knee-length Hatsune Miku wig, please find a wig specialist. 

Here are some things I generally do not commission.

Anything on stilts

Mechanical anything. (Wings that open, Demogorgon faces, anything that needs to move on its own)

Harnessed wings, rings, tentacles, trains, etc (I have to fit these kinds of thing in person. I will only offer harnessed builds to those who can attend a fitting session in person. I can only offer this in DFW Texas.)

Shoes (that you walk in) 

Programmed LEDs (e.g. flowing or pulsing effects. I can only guarantee RGB + on and off features.)

Anybody over the age of 18 and has a shipping address within the United States can request a commission. Various contracts and consent forms must be signed before I begin working on a commissioned project. If you are not 18 years or older, your parent or legal guardian must sign these forms.

1.What is the return/refund policy?

Returns and refunds are often approved for the following but not limited to reasons…

  1. You received the wrong color, variant, size, etc other than what is listed on the order.
  2. The item is defective or damaged.
